Book Review | A Potion To Die For by Heather Blake – A Magic Potion Mystery

Date Published | November 5, 2013

Date Read | June 2021

Goodreads Rating | 3

Overall | This was cute – the cover was AMAZING and I did have FOMO from not reading it because it seemed like everyone knew about it and read it. I did DNF it originally because of the romance but if you ignore that, then the story is okay.

Pros | It was a cute concept of a magical witch potion shop that could cure everything.

Cons | Having a loser ex is okay but still being in love with him is not. Her ex is a total momma’s boy and after being jilted twice by him when he picked his mother over her, she’s still in love with him? Um, why not trying loving youself enough to not be with such a tool. Just let him marry his mother if he’s that obsessed with her and stop pining over him.

And why didn’t her sister use a hex potion to help her out? It’s like we were supposed to be shocked that her seemingly evil sister does hexes but then she does nothing useful with them

POV | First Person POV Past Tense
