Book Review | Fields’ Guide To Abduction by Julie Mulhern – The Poppy Fields Adventures Book 1

Date Published | April 11, 2019

Date Read | April 2021

Goodreads Rating | 1

Overall | First of all, this was all a little over the top ridiculous. She wakes up next to a dead body and then runs away to a tropical island, where she then sets about solving other murder mysteries. Like, if she was that daring and investigative, why didn’t she stick around and try to solve the first one?

Pros | None

Cons | I pretty much hated the main character – she was vapid, shallow and ditzy. She just kept referring to how beautiful and thin she was. Not that we should hate pretty people but it read like one of those superficial characters from the 1980’s that used to be popular – the big blond ditz.

Warnings | None

POV | First Person POV Past Tense

Will I Be Continuing With The Series | No

Description |

Poppy Fields, Hollywood IT girl extraordinaire, agreed to a week at the newest, most luxurious resort in Cabo. After all, what’s better than the beach when a girl is feeling blue? When Poppy is abducted, she’ll need all her smarts, all her charm, and a killer Chihuahua.
